2 Guys and an Idea
ROI Capital started out with 2 guys and an idea:
John Sterling – from the investment side with experience in all areas of financing and investment fund operations.
Fernando Cipriano – from marketing and sales management side with deep knowledge about financial advisors and investors.
The Idea? Mezzanine Financing. They identified a financing gap for small-to-medium-sized businesses. They believed that mezzanine financing could fill that gap. Mezzanine financing loans enable companies to grow their businesses without giving up equity – an attractive option for smaller businesses. Sterling and Cipriano also believed that investors could earn returns from a fund dedicated to mezzanine financing. The result – ROI Fund – the 1st tax credit fund designed to generate investor returns from lending to later-stage private companies.
ROI Capital is now dedicated to repeating the ROI Fund story. Today, ROI is a team of driven employees on a mission to launch innovative investment opportunities for Canadian investors.
